From Anas, may Allaah be pleased with him, who said, “The most beloved of colours to the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ was green.”

Dear Abu Thurab,
Jazak Allahu Khairan. Though our Prophet liked green colour, our fellow Muslim men seem to choose white coloured dress. Is it not so?

Dear Abu Thurab,
Jazak allahu Khairan! It is heard in one hadees in which the Prophet of Allah suggests to the believers to wear white dresses and do white coloured kafan over the dead bodies. Is it a contradiction? – I do not know.

As salam walikum rahmatullah wa barakatu Abu Thurab,
Beside referring silsilah, please provide the reference to actual hadith, (as provided in silsalah compiled by Albani). May Allah ignore forms, In my knowledge, Since he compliled saheeh or daif. Allah Knows Best.
In fact, as Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3380; at-Tirmidhi, 915. The best colour that a man may wear is white, because of the hadeeth narrated by Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Wear white garments, for they are among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in them.”
Although green is permissible, it is not sunnah, (unless more concrete proof is brought forward). It is known that Sufi innovators who promoted green.
