“With Jibreel and Meekaa’eel and Israafeel …”

Aaishah, radiyallaahu anhaa said, “The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, fainted [during his final illness] while his head was in my lap, so I started to rub it and supplicate for him to be cured.  Then when he came round, he, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

‘No.  Rather I ask Allaah for the Highest Company!  With [the angels] Gabriel and Meekaail and Israafeel!'”

Reported by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh, no. 6557 and declared authentic by Shaikh Al-Albaani, rahimahullaah.

Sending Prayers upon the Prophet, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam …

Ammaar bin Yaasir, may Allaah be pleased with him, said, “Allaah’s Messenger, sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, said:

‘Indeed Allaah has assigned an angel to my grave, He has given him the names of [all] creation.  So no-one sends prayers upon me until the Day of Judgement except that he informs me of that person’s name and his father’s name, [saying]: ‘This is so and so the son of so and so, he has sent prayers upon you.’’”

Sahih Al-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (1667).
